About the Youth Resource Alliance
A collaborative effort to connect families with the resources they need.

Our History
The Youth Resource Alliance (YRA) was created in response to a 2010 Community Health Needs Assessment conducted by Valley Health. The assessment identified several areas of concern affecting the health and well-being of children and youth throughout the Lord Fairfax Health District.
As community work groups came together to address these concerns, the Youth Risk Behaviors (YRB) Subgroup of the Family Developmental and Social Health Work Group brought together organizations and individuals focused on improving outcomes for local youth. The group recognized that, while many organizations were providing valuable programs and services, there was no central way to share information or help families navigate the resources available to them.
From this need, the Youth Resource Alliance was formed. The Alliance was established as both a network for professionals to share information and collaborate and a community resource to help children, youth, families, and those who support them connect with available services.
In 2013, Northwestern Community Services Board Prevention and Wellness offered funding to support the development and ongoing maintenance of the YRA website in partnership with Page Alliance for Community Action, Family Youth Initiative, Warren Coalition and CLEAN Inc.
Today, YRA continues the work that began in 2010: Connecting our community with information, resources, and one another to support the well-being of children, youth and families across the region.
